Check out my band,
Billionaire Boys Club (I'm working on the new web
site, so there isn't much there quite yet.) We're
in the studio right now, recording a new demo/EP which
should hopefully be done by the end of the year.
If you care, here are
some of the other sites that I (theoretically) maintain:

exit13.net
is now on a new server! That means I have lots more space
for pictures, movies, audio, and best of all...no more
ads! Please let
me know if you find any broken links or if something
just doesn't seem to be working right.
A few updates to start things off, including new
band pages for Spacehog,
The Selzers, and Fountains
of Wayne. Also, the concerts
page is updated through September 2001.
Of course there is lots more great new stuff coming soon...hope you like
it!

I would like to welcome those who came to this page for
information on my uncle, Lars-Erik Nelson. All the kind messages, comments, and
memories really means so much our family--we simply cannot express our gratitude enough!
If you haven't seen it yet, you can find the tribute page here.
And, believe it or not (I don't believe it myself), the following pages have been updated:
behind.the.scenes, concerts, gallery (just a little.) July

I'm taking a little break from the Internet for the next two
weeks, so before I go, I'd like to offer up something special! Listen to a great new
Spacehog song, "I Want To Live," recorded live at Arlene Grocery on 7/22/2000.
For anyone interested in the tech specs, this was just done with a pair of Sound
Professionals standard binaural microphones plugged into a Sharp MD-821 minidisc
recorder. Mixing and mastering were done using SoundForge 4.5 and T-Racks.

So...I figured out some of the things I did in the last six months and updated the concerts page. I have seen somewhere around 225
shows in the last six years, which comes out to about one show every ten days. Sounds like
a lot, but in truth, it feels like even more! In honor of it all, I posted some FOWSLEY pics from last year's show at the
Bowery!
Anyway, other news is that the Copperpot (formerly Tocar) CD
is done, and it sounds pretty damn good. Should be interesting to see what comes of it.
And in case you missed it...check out the new title--this is now exit13.net! These days it's all
about the beach on the weekends...get yourself some sun!

Not much to say...heck, it's only been seven months since I last updated
this page. All I have to say is to recommend you check out a great band called Tocar
and download their new
song "Candy" from mp3.com. Thanks!

Is there any point to this page any more? I'm sure there is...for whatever
reason, I still get hits. Just to be nice, I updated the concerts page. Oh, and I started a page on mp3.com, so now I have a place to
post my music. For now all I have is the same Basstastic Beats that's been here for
a while, but I'm planning on posting some more material soon. Though...when I say
"soon," you know what that means. So we'll see what happens.
So...earlier this week I went to see the Music Against Brain Degeneration tour
at Tramps. The show was just unreal; it was also dubbed as the 'World's
First Headphone Tour,' as the entire show was broadcast in the venue over FM radio.
Everyone could borrow wireless headphones and listen to the show in perfect stereo
sonic fidelity--it was totally cool! Flaming Lips were headlining, but
the band that really amazed me was Cornelius. Picture Japanese metal with crazy
techno beats and lead theremin at times. The whole time there was also a huge video
screen behind the stage, which alternated between showing spectrum analyzers or anime to
close-up shots from the on-stage cameras. It was definitely a worthwhile experience!
And now, what next? Who knows...I'm getting involved with some audio
production things these days. Maybe I'll have some more material to post--after all,
the reason I do all this is so I can share. Write me and let me know if I should bother!

In some ways, I really want to put some updates on this page. I still
have a lot of photos to scan, audio to capture, and stories to write. In the
meantime, I decided to start playing with RealAudio. So, for your listening
pleasure, I give you Basstastic Beats, an original drum &
bass composition recorded live in 1997. It features only my friend Jake and I,
mostly improvising, mostly out-of-tune, and mostly having a good time. I wrote this myself
and we played it live for about 300 people after only one rehearsal. I think it
came out all right--let me know what you think in the guestbook!

Ben Folds is talking about recording the next Thriller--an album with
eight #1 singles. So guess what...before anyone else, I have the album! Have
a look at the cover. If there's any interest, I'll post some sound clips soon. |

My next Ben Folds Five road trip
starts Sunday. Catch me in Washington DC, Worcester, Providence, and New York City! |
