27.November.2000

So this is me. Contrary to popular belief, I am not a thirteen year-old girl. In truth, I'm a male from the USA, somewhere between the ages of ten and thirty. (Don't complain if you find this really boring, because you're the one who wanted to read it.)

In addition to spending my weekdays working as a computer systems administrator, I'm way into music.  I've been to more concerts in the last five years than most people see in five lifetimes, often recording with my trusty Sharp MD-821 MiniDisc. In fact, you may just have a live mp3 on your computer that I released to the world!

With both Ben Folds Five and Sponge parting ways, my active roster of favorite bands is fading fast.  The Bogmen ended things over a year ago as well, and Fountains of Wayne, Spacehog, and Sense Field are all looking for record deals.  What's up with the music biz these days, anyway? Recent favorites of mine include Kent, the Dandy Warhols, Sarah Lentz, and The Cranberries.

To further insure the lack of any quality free time, I also do promotion and web design for several bands on the side.  Check out Evelyn Forever or Schiavo for a tasty sample. I made my debut as an executive producer for the Copperpot disc Nothing Lasts Forever, working with the supercool guys at Trajectory Records.

The music stuff continues with my own work as well, which I fake my way around as Leigh 13. I've yet to make any real progress in my home studio, but rest assured the results will be here when I do.  Currently, my gear includes a '91 Fender Jazz Bass Plus, Yamaha fretless, and a short-scale Squier Bronco bass tuned ADGC.  I also have a beautiful Yamaha APX8A acoustic guitar.  All this is run through a Line 6 Bass POD amp simulator or my SWR SM-400 amplifier to a MidiMan Flying Cow A/D converter, which in turn pumps a pure digital signal to my Turtle Beach Montego II. Drum beats come courtesy of Gota Yashiki.

Lately I have been fancying myself a bit of a film buff, following the assembly of what I think is a pretty bitchin' home theatre.  If you don't watch your movies in widescreen and 5.1 surround sound, you're really missing out.  Although, it's kinda funny since most of my favorite flicks benefit little from the hi-fi treatment.  I mean, can Office Space get any better, regardless of the screen size?

In the words of Eddie Vedder, "okay, I think that's enough."

Write me if you feel an undying urge to know more!
